Karnataka minister K J George steps down after FIR ordered

Hours after a court ordered registration of a case against him in connection with the suicide of a senior police officer, Karnataka Minister K J George step down from his post on Monday evening.

A Judicial Magistrate of a First Class court (JMFC) on Monday ordered the registration of cases against Karnataka Minister K J George and two senior police officers for abetting the suicide of Deputy Superintendent of Police M K Ganapati.

Answering the media regarding the court's order, George said he is hundred percent sure that he will come out clean.

Facebook researchers develop light-based wireless communication technology

NEW YORK: Researchers from Facebook's Connectivity Lab have developed a new technology that can one day make light-based wireless communications -- a far superior technology than the ones based on radio frequencies or microwaves -- a reality in the future.

ARM said it would keep its headquarters in Cambridge and that it would at least double the number of its staff over the next five years.

The deal will be funded by Softbank's own cash reserves and a long term loan from Japan's Mizuho Bank.Softbank is one of the world's biggest technology companies and is run by its founder, Japanese entrepreneur Masayoshi Son.It has previously acquired Vodafone's Japanese operations and the US telecoms company Sprint. The $20bn deal was the biggest foreign acquisition by a Japanese firm at the time.

In the paper, the researchers examined two aspects of 3D printing that have cybersecurity implications: printing orientation and insertion of fine defects.

"These are possible foci for attacks that could have a devastating impact on users of the end product, and economic impact in the form of recalls and lawsuits," said Nikhil Gupta, noted materials researcher and an associate professor of mechanical engineering at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering.
